• Experience of a lifetime

  My mother and I wanted to have a volunteering experience in Africa. We came across Lost Adventures and were drawn to this company more than any other. We decided to do the Rhino and Elephant Conservancy project at Imire, Zimbabwe for a week. Mikkel made the whole signing up process very smooth and gave us all necessary details for the trip.

   

  The volunteering experience itself was just phenomenal, we wish we had booked to stay longer! All of the Imire team were fantastic and made sure our stay was comfortable. The accommodation at the house was more than i expected and the food was delicious and plentiful. The work experience was always varied so you got a good go at everything and they all made a valid contribution to the conservancy. The volunteers were an amazing bunch of people of all ages and nationalities, so this project is perfect for everyone. I ended up making great friendships and traveling with one of the girls from the project.

   

  A bonus was that we were in extremely close contact with the two elephants, Mac and Mandevu and even had a bush breakfast with them. It's not an experience you can get anywhere else.

   

  I would strongly recommend signing up to this volunteer programme with Lost Adventures. We have made memories for a lifetime and I will surely do another project with them soon!

• Awesome training course in the Okavango Delta

  I spent 2 weeks on an amazing Field Guide course in Botswana in the Okavango Delta.
  Lost Adventures took very well care of me through the whole booking process, during the trip and after my return.
  I always felt in good hands and had all the information I needed.
  I will definitely choose Lost Adventures again for my next trip to the Delta.

• Amazing African Safari!

  Me and my grandfather were on a 9-day safari which exceeded our expectations. The mobile safari gave a really nice authentic feeling of what it's like living in the bush, the nice camp was nice and the service was 5 star. We heard lions, hyenas, and hippos calling close to our tent, and even one night an elephant passed by. The chef was amazing and made the most amazing food under the circumstances of living in the bush. We saw a big diversity of animals all the way from crocodiles to cheetahs and leopards, and their behavior was extraordinary to look at. We can't thank Mikkel enough for planning this trip well through and being available to assist us 24/7!

  Safari in Botswana & visit to Victoria Falls - May/Jun. 2022

• The best family safari experience

  Lost Adventures arranged a 7-day family safari for me and my two kids (age 11 and 17) in Tanzania. The program was set up perfectly! We stayed at different lodges and camps, with the nicest people and excellent accomodations. Our guide was the best! Everyday he delivered animal experiences that exceeded our expectations, and we got to see the big five - and all the other animals we had hoped for, like giraffs and huge herds of wilderbeasts and zebras. This was an experience of a lifetime!

• Amazing experience with Lost Adventures

  Our 20 year old daughter Cecilia has just returned from a 4 week stay at Shamwari Conservation Experience in South Africa. She has had the most incredible time and learned so much about wildlife and conservation in South Africa. She has had the time of her life and met so many amazing people from around the world, and has gained lifelong friendships :). We can not thank Mikkel enough for his commitment, engagement and very professionel manner. He was always quick to respond to our mails if we had any questions. As a nervous mom sending our daughter around the world, we were not at one point worried :) After being back for a few weeks our daughter is already talking about joining another of Mikkels programs with Lost Adventures in the near future :) Thank you, Mikkel for making this possible, and for being SO hands on and committed through it all.

• I spent 4 weeks at Shamwari...

  I spent 4 weeks at the Shamwari Conservation Experience, and had an absolutely unforgettable time there. Mikkel was beyond helpful with providing information and answering questions, there was never a moment I felt unsafe or unprepared thanks to him. • Had the time of my life at one of the…

• Making a dream come true 

  Mikkels service and help can only be described as uncanny. I was originally going to Botswana to volunteer but there was some complications with the project there so unfortunately my trip had to be cancelled. This was 2 weeks before I was due to leave for Africa. Mikkel then went above and beyond to find me another project I could go to. He reached out to all of his contact and managed to find me another project. Since then, I've managed to stay and made myself a life there. Mikkel has more or less made one of my dream come true and I will always be grateful for what he has done for me.

  Jeg vil helt klart anbefale Mikkel, hvis man har brug for hjælp og vejledning i forbindelse med at arrangere sin rejse!
  Han informerede om alle de ting, som jeg havde spekuleret over i forbindelse med både flyrute og afgangetidspunkter, visa og vaccinationer, og han hjalp også med valg af selve projektet,som jeg var afsted på. Han var meget behjælpelig i forbindelse med forberedelse ang. pakningen og var hurtig til at svare på spørgsmål,som jeg spurgte om, - både flere måneder før afrejse ,-og også blot et par timer før afgang.
  Alt sammen gjorde, at jeg følte mig tryg og klar til at tage afsted. Jeg følte at jeg var blevet forberedt på bedst mulig vis! Det var en helt fantastisk rejse, og jeg følte at det var den bedste vejledning, som jeg kunne få ,da Mikkel dels har en masse erfaring med projekter og rejser, og dels fordi at han altid var tilgængelig og behjælpelig - og fokuserede meget på at rejsen blev tilrettelagt efter hvad jeg ønskede. :)

  Mikkel hjalp mig til at finde den perfekte destination til frivilligt arbejde. Hans store erfaring og viden om arbejde med dyr og natur, gør ham kvalificeret til at give kompetente råd om hvilket projekt der ville passe dig bedst, ud fra dine egne ønsker og behov.
  Derudover stiller Mikkel sig altid til rådighed angående eventuelle spørgsmål, hvad end de måtte være praktiske eller mere teoretiske om dyrenes og naturens gang. Dette giver en stor tryghedsfølelse, hvilket er et solidt fundament for at engagere sig i et projekt.

• True experience in the wild

  The research project in Kenya Maasai Mara was à wonderful experience in the wild, living very closely to wild animals. There are no fences at all so big animals (even lions) are free to go wherever they want and even come very close to the camp at night. You can hear them roar which is amazing. The staff is so amazing and fun. I also had the chance to meet wonderful maasai people :) as one of my duties was to give French classes to the Maasai students. I learnt a lot on their livestyle and culture. I really admire how they still live with their ancient traditions. This project is a very good example of humans finding a good balance with the wild. Best experience ever and I trully recommend!

• Real experience of wild lifetime

  Real experience of wild lifetime, the savannah has given us much more than we had hoped ! It was the first time for us to get involved in a volunteer project in Africa, and not the last ! 2 weeks of adventure and volunteering for ever in our memory. Africa, we will meet again very soon!
