Lost Adventures is not liable for missed departures, denied entry, or additional costs incurred due to incomplete or incorrect travel documents, visa refusals, or lack of required vaccinations.
Travellers are responsible for ensuring that they meet all passport, visa, re-entry permit, and health certificate requirements for their destination(s). Passports must be valid for at least six months beyond the date of return and contain a minimum of two blank pages. It is also the traveller's responsibility to consult with their doctor regarding vaccinations, health precautions, and any required prophylactics such as malaria prevention.
We strongly recommend that all travellers take out comprehensive travel insurance as soon as a booking is confirmed. This should include coverage for cancellation, curtailment, medical emergencies, medical evacuation, repatriation, baggage loss, and any disruptions caused by unforeseen events (e.g. strikes, severe weather, pandemics). Lost Adventures cannot be held responsible for any losses resulting from insufficient or absent insurance coverage.
Travellers must also ensure that their insurance includes coverage for medical evacuation and repatriation in case of emergency in remote or wilderness locations.
Travellers must review all travel documents, confirmations, and tickets upon receipt and notify Lost Adventures within 48 hours of any errors or omissions. Lost Adventures is not liable for costs resulting from delayed notifications.
Once a written or electronic confirmation is received and a deposit is paid, a binding agreement is formed between the traveller and Lost Adventures. All bookings are considered final once the deposit is received.
The lead traveller is deemed to act on behalf of all individuals included in the booking and is responsible for ensuring all participants review and accept these Terms & Conditions. By confirming a booking, the lead traveller agrees that all members of their party are bound by these terms.
Travellers are responsible for providing accurate and up-to-date contact information that can be used before and during the trip for time-sensitive communication.
Quotations are valid only for the dates and services specified and are typically held for 7 to 14 days from the date of issue. All prices are subject to availability and to change based on exchange rates, supplier pricing, tax increases, or fuel surcharges. In the event of price increases beyond our control, such as government levies or currency fluctuations, travellers will be notified before confirming the final itinerary.
Prices quoted in currencies other than the confirmed invoicing currency are provided as a courtesy. The confirmed itinerary will always be invoiced in the currency agreed upon with our local partners, which may vary by destination (e.g. EUR, USD or ZAR for safaris, JPY for Japan). If prices are presented in another currency such as DKK or GBP, they are indicative only and subject to fluctuations. Final invoicing and payment must be made in the agreed currency listed on your invoice. Lost Adventures is not liable for exchange rate differences incurred by the traveller between quote and payment.
If the balance is not received by the due date, Lost Adventures reserves the right to cancel the booking without refund and reallocate the services. A reminder will be sent prior to cancellation.
A standard deposit of 20% of the total booking value is required to confirm any booking. In some cases, a higher or different deposit amount may apply depending on the specific itinerary and will be clearly communicated at the time of reservation. The remaining balance is due no later than 90 days prior to arrival, unless otherwise stated in writing.
Payment can be made via secure online payment or bank transfer. Any bank or foreign exchange fees are the responsibility of the traveller. Lost Adventures accepts payment in EUR or USD as standard, unless otherwise specified in writing on your invoice. If you prefer to pay by credit card, please let us know and we will provide a secure payment link. Please note that additional processing fees may apply depending on your location and the card provider.
Please note: The deposit is strictly non-refundable and includes an administrative fee to cover time and services already provided in the planning process. The applicable deposit amount will be clearly stated at the time of reservation.
No refunds will be issued for late arrivals, early departures, or unused services during the trip, regardless of the reason.
Cancellations must be made in writing and take effect on the date received by Lost Adventures.
In the case of itinerary cancellations, a standard administration fee of up to €300 per person may apply, depending on the nature of the itinerary and services booked. Additional supplier cancellation penalties may be passed on where applicable.
Lost Adventures will provide supporting documentation for insurance claims where possible.
While we take care to work with reputable third-party suppliers, Lost Adventures is not liable for their acts, omissions, service quality, or insolvency.
Lost Adventures may arrange flights, transfers, or accommodation through independent third-party suppliers. Flights arranged by Lost Adventures are booked through our official partner 360 Private Travel, operating under IATA: 96116370, ANVR: 05749, VZR Garant registration no. 134322, and ATOL: 7515. All flight arrangements are subject to the relevant airline and booking terms. Any errors in names or passport details must be communicated by the traveller at the time of booking. Lost Adventures is not responsible for missed flights, changes, or penalties due to incorrect information provided by the traveller.
Travellers are subject to the terms and conditions of each supplier. Travellers are responsible for ensuring that their names are correctly stated on all tickets and booking documents, as per their passport. Flight bookings are non-transferable, and failure to use the tickets in the correct order may result in cancellation.
In order to meet its statutory obligation to provide a guarantee, Lost Adventures makes use of the guarantee scheme provided by VZR Garant. You can check that this is the case via https://www.vzr-garant.nl. You can find the conditions of this guarantee scheme on the VZR Garant website.
Lost Adventures operates in partnership with 360 Private Travel, which is fully accredited to sell travel packages including flights under IATA: 96116370, ANVR: 05749, VZR Garant registration no. 134322, and ATOL: 7515.
When travel arrangements meet the definition of a “package” under the EU Package Travel Directive, your booking is financially protected by VZR Garant and governed by the relevant consumer protections. You will be notified when your booking qualifies as a package, and full terms are available upon request.
Lost Adventures reserves the right to make reasonable substitutions or modifications to the itinerary, accommodation, or transport arrangements if circumstances require. In such cases, we will aim to provide services of equal or greater value.
Changes to confirmed bookings are subject to availability and any additional costs incurred. Amendments made less than 60 days prior to travel may incur cancellation fees in line with the supplier’s policies.
Lost Adventures is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings during travel. Travellers are advised to carry valuables securely and ensure appropriate insurance coverage.
Lost Adventures cannot be held responsible for missed flights, delays, or cancellations caused by airlines, weather, or third-party operators. Travellers are responsible for managing their own arrival and departure arrangements and any associated costs.
Some experiences arranged by Lost Adventures involve travel in remote or wilderness areas and proximity to wildlife. While safety measures are in place, travellers must accept these risks and act in accordance with all instructions provided by guides and staff. Lost Adventures is not liable for injury or loss arising from behaviour that disregards safety protocols.
Travellers are responsible for providing accurate personal information (e.g. names as per passport, travel dates, medical details). Lost Adventures is not responsible for costs incurred due to incorrect or missing information provided by the traveller.
Travellers are responsible for ensuring they meet health and fitness requirements appropriate to their itinerary. Medical insurance, including evacuation and repatriation cover, is mandatory. Participation in any programme or safari implies acceptance of inherent risks, including remote wilderness travel, unpredictable wildlife behaviour, and limited access to emergency facilities.
Lost Adventures and its partners on-site reserve the right to terminate a traveller’s participation if they violate safety protocols or the code of conduct of any partner project or lodge. No refunds will be issued in such cases.
Lost Adventures is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss resulting from events beyond our control. Liability is limited to the amount recoverable under our professional liability insurance.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or limits a traveller’s statutory rights under applicable EU consumer protection law.
In cases of force majeure, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, or strikes, Lost Adventures reserves the right to cancel or alter itineraries. In such cases, travellers may defer their travel or request a refund, less any unrecoverable costs from third-party suppliers. We will always act in good faith to find a fair resolution.
Lost Adventures complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Personal data is used solely for travel planning and service delivery and is never shared outside our trusted partners without consent. Travellers may request access to or deletion of their personal data at any time.
Any issues must be reported immediately to the relevant local representative, lodge staff, or Lost Adventures contact while on-site, so that we have the opportunity to resolve them during the trip. Failure to notify us or our local partners promptly may affect your right to seek compensation later.
Travellers may not make alternative arrangements or seek compensation from third parties at Lost Adventures’ expense without prior written approval.
Any issues or complaints must be submitted in writing no later than 28 days after the completion of the trip. We encourage early communication so we can help resolve concerns promptly during the journey whenever possible.
If a traveller notices any imperfection during the trip, they must report it immediately to Lost Adventures or to the relevant lodge, guide, or project staff. If the local representative is unable or unwilling to resolve the issue, the traveller must contact Lost Adventures directly to allow us the opportunity to remedy the issue.
Travellers must ensure that the complaint is properly documented—either through written notes, email, or hotel logs—and obtain written confirmation or acknowledgment.
Failure to notify us in a timely and appropriate manner may impact your right to later seek compensation.
Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, and accommodation layouts or views may differ slightly from marketing materials. All experiences are delivered in good faith and reflect seasonal and environmental conditions.
Travellers may be required to sign activity waivers for certain high-risk experiences, such as bush walks or quad biking. These do not override EU consumer rights or remove liability in cases of gross negligence.
Messages received outside regular business hours will be deemed received on the following working day.
Essential requests due to medical reasons will be submitted to our local partners. We will do our best to confirm availability, but cannot guarantee fulfilment. Travellers will be informed of any additional costs associated with essential requests prior to confirmation.
These terms are governed by and shall be interpreted in accordance with the laws of Denmark. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Danish courts. Lawsuits against Lost Adventures may exclusively be filed at the Copenhagen District Court.
